Students: your mission!

So you're a student and you want to participate, huh?

First off? THANK YOU. You are officially one of the coolest kids on the planet.

Now. What you do.

It's easy. Check with your school librarian and borrow my book, POSSUM SUMMER. (You can also buy it! If you buy it, email me, and I'll send you a fancy bookplate that is JUST for Oklahoma Showdown participants).

Next? Read it. Maybe do a little laughing, maybe a little crying.

Next? Sit down with a piece of paper and write a Lookbook (you'll know what this is when you've read it!) diary entry about some aspect of life on a farm. Drawings are MORE than fine, a few short paragraphs is what you need. Be creative! It's ALL YOU.

Next? Give it either to your teacher or your librarian, and let them know you're taking part.

Then everybody votes - your teachers, parents, grandparents, the weird cat woman down the street (that would be me) and you could very well win some VERY cool stuff for your class and your school!
